[ # ] Alan Kerins wins GPA Fair Play Award
December 13th, 2007

Galway’s Alan Kerins has been awarded the inaugural GPA Fair Play award sponsored by Halifax. It seems to be Kerins off field activites that got him the award, he has his own charity - the “Alan Kerins African Projects” - which raises moeny and provides services for some of the poorest in Africa.

Great to see a top class GAA player doing such high profile charity work and getting rewarded for it.

750,000 euros raised in under 2 years great work and spreading the word of hurling. Fair play Alan keep up the good work.

Read the piece in the indo bout Ger Loughlane being criticised for this years preformance. It being described as “disastrous” by Mike Ryan was off the mark.
Galway have done nothing in senior hurling for 20 years.
How could Loughlane come in and change that trend when the clubs arent 100% behind the county team. Joe Canning
was a big loss for Galway this year. Even though he said that he wanted to concentrate on his STUDIES In Limerick IT this year surley his treatment by the county board after 2006 county final was what made up his mind to miss 2007. They needed to go to specsavers. Fall outs between county boards and hurling management does nothing for your counties prospects. Limerick had the famous 20 questions produced by the county board to hurling manager Tom Ryan in 1996 after the All Ireland caused a big split in the county which we only got over this year when both county board and hurling management flew under the same flag.

Galway and Loughnane will win nothing until there is harmony between Board, management and clubs. Dont drag your dirty linen through the national press. Learn from Limericks mistakes from the last 10 years.

Yeah its stupid having a go at loughnane. But for a couple of moments of defensive suicide this year they might have beaten kilkenny.
Nothing worse than county boards interfering in the county teams. Seems to happen way too much, currently see cork, tyrone, galway….
