No surprises in the club semi finals as Portumna and Birr both came through without any major difficulty. Watched a repeat of the Portumna Loughmore game on TG4 and it wasn’t great. We saw more of the ref and his umpires than we did of any great play. Joe Canning did have a couple of moments of class and his early goal was one of the decisive plays of the game. He ended up with 1-9 of which 1-3 was from play.
A powerful second half driven by the three Whelehans seems to have been the key to the Birr win.

Birr 0-17 Dunloy 0-9
