[ # ] Dublin City Council ban parking near Croke Park
April 18th, 2008

It seems that Dublin City council have decided to give the two fingers to any GAA fan outside the pale by banning parking within 2 kms of Croke Park on match days. It’s bad enough that fans were having their cars clamped for no good reason now they’ll have to try find new locations to park and then either walk ages or try battle with the hopeless transport system.

The idea might be ok in theory if there were suitable parking zones on the city limits and reliable transport straight to the ground but it just ain’t so.
So the Luas car park at the red cow will now be overflowing and the Luas trams will packed like cattle trailers.

It already costs a fortune as it is for people to get to Croker on match days and no doubt this will just add more to it. And after your epic journey to the wonderful stadium what do you get as refreshments ? - crappy dry burgers and over priced minerals. Woohooo. The stadium is great as a sporting venue but it’s facilities for the non corporate fan are shit and this is just another spit in the face.

Back to Thurles for all hurling games!!
