It’s round 1 proper of the Ulster championship this weekend, where Monaghan and Tyrone fresh from their narrow wins last Sunday face off against Donegal and London.
The draw seems to be gradually seeded from the weakest to the strongest. In the next round Derry and Armagh are waiting and in the semis Antrim and Down are there.
In league placings Monaghan won division 4 and Donegal were beaten in division 3 final, London finished bottom of division 2 without a point and Tyrone finished mid division 3. Presumably that makes Donegal and London favourites to advance but Monaghan and Tyrone have the advantage of those tough games last weekend to bring them up to championship pace.
Saturday May 17th
Monaghan v Donegal (Clones, 3.45pm)
Sunday May 18th
Tyrone v London (Omagh, 1.30pm)
